HOUSE CLEANING CHECK LIST
BY ROOM - IF NO LINEN SERVICE SKIP "linen service"
Linen Service
- immediatly start washing machine
- strip bed
- Wash sheets, pillow cases, bed skirt and duvet in washing machine.
- strip bed of mattress cover
- inspect mattress for bed bugs, when mattress has been inspected and is clean, Attach "upholstery tool" to vacuum. Vacuum the top of the mattress removing dirt, dust mites, dead skin cells. When finished, attach the "crevice tool" to vacuum. Vacuum seams of the bed, both top and bottom seams.
CLICK "Vacuum Attachments"
- Allow mattress to air out, while keeping an eye on the laundry
- When wash is finished, remove linen from the washing machine, shake out the sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover and bed skirt. Place linen in the dryer, dry on the proper temp. according to the manufactures instructions. Be sure to remove the lint from the prior use. Start clothes dryer
- When the linen is dry, make the bed
- Continue to do the laundry as you are working the list below
- When finished with the laundry, clean the laundry area, remove lint from clothes dryer
Kitchen
- remove cobwebs from ceiling
- clean ceiling fans and ceiling fan blades
- empty the dishwasher, put away the clean and dry dishes.
- clean kitchen cabinet faces
- clean small kitchen appliances that remain on the kitchen counter
- clean stove top
- clean refrigerator face
- clean freezer face
- clean microwave face
- clean oven face
- clean dishwasher face
- clean kitchen backsplash
- clean the oven-hood face
- clean kitchen sink
- clean kitchen faucet
- remove kitchen trash from kitchen trash can
- clean inside kitchen trash can and dry
- replace kitchen trash bag
DO NOT CLEAN THE KITCHEN COUNTERS WE DO THIS NEXT TO LAST
- clean light switches
- wipe doors, door knobs, door frames
- wipe inside window sills
- hand wash baseboards
- If possible (as not to harm the furniture) place kitchen chairs atop the kitchen table
BATHROOMS
- remove cobwebs from ceiling
- clean ceiling fans and ceiling fan blades
- clean ceiling fan grate
- clean shower
- clean shower doors in/out
- clean tub
- clean toliet
- clean toliet base
- clean mirrors
- clean bathroom sink
- clean bathroom faucet
- clean bathroom cabinet faces
- clean light switches
- wipe doors, door knobs, door frames
- wipe inside window sills
- remove bathroom trash from bathroom trash can
- clean inside bathroom trash can and dry
- replace bathroom trash bag with new bag
- clean bathroom counters
- hand wash base boards
- hand wash bathroom floor, remove all hair from floor
BEDROOMS
- remove cobwebs from ceiling
- clean ceiling fans and ceiling fan blades
- wipe closet doors/clean mirrored closet doors
- dust all furniture and reachable surfaces
- wash all mirrors
- clean light switches
- wipe doors, door knobs, door frames
- wipe inside window sills
- Make sure bed is made correctly, place pillows correctly on bed
- Make sure blankets are properly folded and put away
- wipe base boards
DINNING ROOM/LIVING ROOM/HALL/LIBRARY/OFFICE/WORK-OUT ROOM
- remove cobwebs from ceiling
- clean ceiling fans and ceiling fan blades
- wipe closet doors/clean mirrored closet doors/mirrored walls
- dust all furniture and reachable surfaces
- wipe and dry work-out equiptment, remove dirty towels from room and place in laundry hamper
- wash all mirrors
- clean light switches
- wipe doors, door knobs, door frames
- wipe inside window sills
- wipe base boards
- sweep, mop, and/or vacuum entire home
- clean kitchen counters
BEACH PROPERTY - DON'T RINSE SAND DOWN THE DRAIN!
